Hi all

As those in the beta already know, the AI now (experimentally) allows for multiple pre-defined plans in a scenario.

If you want to try this on a scenario, here's how to set them up (quoting the devs here, sorry. Things are moving so fast I havent' had time to try it myself):

For multiple plans [00] to [99] (numbers can be skipped), file naming you add " ^[nn] " to the file name.

If "default" ( no plan number ) file is found, it is ignored if numbered plan is found.  Otherwise, default file is used.

Each plan can have unique groups, group names, and scripting orders...

It is a combined human general, randomness of plan, and AI (as soldier only after general is done!).  

This is same and can be used for Non-AI scenario groups.  

To make the plans, save a group/scripting in regular scenario, then rename and add plan number to filename.  Later save more
plans and give them numbers.  Later you can copy them to AI folder.
So basically you save a plan and add "^xx" to the file name, where xx is the plan number (see screenshot below).

This is a truly huge development for BC scenario design!

Latest Version (20160508) Changes and improvements:

  • AI now assigns various movement missions to otherwise unassigned combat groups during the middle game phase

  • AI should now maneuver to close with the enemy in various new ways


    I can confirm the AI now closes agressively, this was not always the case, especially in a flanked situation.

    I'm not getting reliable transition to the middle game though yet in the Golan scenario. I think it has to do with the 'opening positions reached' condition, as none of the other conditions are met. I'll have to check how much of an issue this is with the Pelkinie scenario.
